ETAH: Five persons were killed and four seriously injured when a car collided with the truck coming from the opposite side in Mirechi village here, police said.
The incident occurred yesterday when the nine persons were returning from Soron after bathing in Ganga river and the driver of the speeding car rammed into a truck coming from the other side while trying to overtake another vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as Maya Devi (55), Guddi Devi (60), Mool Chand (68) and driver Mahesh Pandey (30), residents of Agra, police further said.
The driver of the truck fled from the scene after the accident.
The injured were referred to Agra for treatment, they added.
