China Shoots Down Pakistan's Spy Drone Claim

BEIJING/JAMMU/SRINAGAR:In an embarrassing disclosure for Pakistan, the Chinese official media on reported that the “spy” drone Pakistani army shot down along the LoC, claiming it belonged to Indian security forces, was made in China.

The drone was “recognised in Beijing as the Chinese made DJI phantom 3,” the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC)-run People’s Daily said in a report on its website.

Meanwhile, hostilities at the Pakistan border escalated with fresh ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Rajouri and Poonch sectors in Jammu and Kashmir on Eid leaving five civilians, including three women injured.

In a related development, at least four persons, including two women, were on Saturday injured in clashes that broke out between protestors and security forces in several areas of Kashmir soon after Eid prayers even as Pakistani flags were hoisted in several parts of the valley, police said.
