MP NGO to Create Awareness About Vyapam Scam

BHOPAL: A leading NGO today launched a signature campaign in Madhya Pradesh to create awareness about the Vyapam scam, saying that the admissions and recruitment fraud was not just a political issue.

"The Vyapam scam is not just a political issue but also a social one and those involved in it, whether they are politicians or officials, should be immediately removed from their posts in the interest of a fair probe," Madhya Pradesh Jan Swasthya Abhiyan's national executive member Amulya Nidhi told reporters.

He said a signature campaign was launched by the NGO to create awareness among people about the scam and its ramifications, specially in the social sector.

The NGO also demanded that the Centre dismiss State Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, an accused in the scam, from his post. It also pressed for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation.

Nidhi said that because of increasing privatisation, the quality of education is rapidly declining and the sector has opened new avenues for corruption.

He said that education and health are the state's constitutional responsibility and it should not run away from them.
