Vyapam Scam: CBI Registers 38 Fresh FIRs

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday filed fresh FIRs against 38 accused in the Vyapam scam.

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday filed fresh FIRs against 38 accused in the Vyapam scam.

On Thursday, the CBI had filed an FIR along with two preliminary enquiries, in connection with the controversial scam.

It had earlier registered 65 FIRs and five preliminary inquiries into the case.

The preliminary inquiries had been registered in Pre-Medical Test 2010, Pre-Post Graduation Medical Examination 2011, irregularities in Pre-Medical Test 2009 and 2010, Forest Guard Recruitment in 2013 and Pre-Medical Test 2011.

The CBI had constituted a special team of 40 officers, headed by a Joint Director level officer, to probe the scam.

The Supreme Court had earlier transferred all cases relating to the Vyapam scam to the CBI.
