Dr Kalam Elected as President of India to Get BJP's Muslim Vote Bank: Pakistan Scientist

A well known scientist and nuclear physicist from Pakistan believe that former President of India, also known as "The Missile Man", Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was an ordinary scientist.

Abdul Quadeer Khan, known for his contributions in Pakistan's atomic bomb project, recently gave this statement in a telephonic interview held with BBC.

Khan said during the interview that he cannot recall any big inventions of Dr Kalam.

He further said that Dr Kalam, who passed away on Monday, was a man who believed in simple living and was an ordinary scientist too.

Khan alleged that Indian missile program was achieved with major Russian inputs.

However, things went controversial when he said that Dr Kalam was elected as the President of India in 2002 during the rule of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) to ensure party’s Muslim vote bank of the country.
