NEW DELHI:Though the Congress distanced itself from tweets by its senior leaders, there was no denying the fact that the party was put to much discomfort by the views expressed on Memon hanging. Media incharge of the Congress Randip Surjewala assumed a poker face to assert that Memon’s execution happened after all legal/judicial options were exhausted and in “due course of law”, including rejection mercy petition by the President twice. “However, the case will be fully closed only when the Government of India brings Tiger Memon and Dawood Ibrahim to justice,” he added.
