A social media journalist was allegedly burnt alive at Shahjehanpur in Uttar Pradesh for writing against Samajwadi Party MLA Ram Murti on Facebook.
Jagendra Singh had reportedly put up a post on Facebook against the MLA and written over his alleged involvement in illegal activities like illegal mining and forced occupation of land in newspaper.
These allegation are said to have angered the MLA prompting him to frame false charges against Jagendra.
According to his family's claims, the police officer who went to arrest Jagendra set him on fire and he succumbed on the way to hospital.
Police, however, denied these charges saying though they went to arrest him, he committed suicide.
