NEW DELHI: President Pranab Mukherjee will administer the oath of office to newly appointed Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) K V Chowdary and Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Vijai Sharma here tomorrow.

The President will administer the oath of office to Chowdary as CVC and Sharma as Chief Information Commissioner at a function to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow, a statement issued today by the President's secretariat said.

Their appointments were approved yesterday by the President, a week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge recommended their names.

Besides them, T M Bhasin, Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Bank, and Sudhir Bhargava, former Social Justice and Empowerment Secretary, have been appointed as Vigilance Commissioner and Information Commissioner, respectively.

They will take the oath of office from CVC and CIC respectively, a Personnel Ministry official said.

The posts of CVC and CIC were lying vacant for over nine months. While the Central Vigilance Commission is in its full strength now, the Central Information Commission still has vacancy of three Information Commissioners against the sanctioned strength of ten.
