LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government today issued detailed directives to identify sensitive areas and maintain peace during month of Ramzan starting next week.

"Directives have been issued through Home department and DGP office to all the Divisional commissioners, district magistrates and district police chiefs to maintain peace during month of Ramzan starting next week by identifying sensitive areas," IG, Law and order A Satish Ganesh said.

They have been asked to analyse incidents, if any in their respective areas during this period, he added.

As per the past experience, Bareilly is the most sensitive zone followed by Meerut and Lucknow, the IG said.

"Mainly disputes took place due to installation of loudspeakers and place of offering namaz so district magistrates have been asked to ensure that no new tradition starts in any district on these points," he added.
