RAIGARH: Former Congress MP and member of erstwhile Raigarh royal family Surrendra Kumar Singh died at Apollo Hospital in Indore today, his daughter said.
Singh (92) was admitted to the hospital few days ago while he was touring Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh after a chest pain and breathing difficulty, his daughter Urvashi Devi Singh said.
His condition became critical today evening and he breathed his last, she said.
A former Rajya Sabha MP and six-time MLA from reserved tribal Lailuga constituency, Singh is survived by his wife, four daughters and two sons.
He was the second son of Raja Chakradhar Singh of the erstwhile royal family of Raigarh.
His mortal remains are being brought to Raigarh from Indore by air, his daughter said, adding that his final rites will be performed tomorrow.
