NEW DELHI: With Nepal being hit by fresh earthquake, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to his counterpart Sushil Koirala and assured him of all possible cooperation from India.

The Prime Minister has spoken to Prime Minister of Nepal on the situation arising due to yesterday's tremors, a PMO statement said. "PM Sushil Koirala and I had a telephonic conversation. We reviewed the situation arising due to yesterday's tremors...I assured PM Koirala of all possible co-operation from our side in the wake of the earthquake," Modi tweeted.

65 people were killed and nearly 2000 injured yesterday when an earthquake of 7.3 magnitude hit Nepal again about three weeks after the devastating quake. Modi also received a call from Russian President Vladimir Putin and the two discussed issues of mutual concern.

"President Putin called me a short while ago. We discussed various issues of mutual concern," Modi said.
