MUMBAI:CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Tuesday accused  Modi Government of undermining the authority of institutions, including Parliament for political gains.

Taking stock of the BJP-NDA Government’s one year in office,  Yechury termed it “Trimurti” (three- faced) in describing the “problems” created by the government. “This government has carried forward erstwhile Manmohan Singh Government’s economic policies. It has become to keep a track of the PM’s foreign tours and the government is undermining authority of the institutions,” Yechury said.

“The Chief Ministers of NorthEast states have written to the PM seeking financial assistance. As the Planning Commission has been done away with, the states could not find a mechanism to register their protest,” the CPM chief said.

Yechuri also  revealed his party’s intention to take along non party Left groups in its fight with the government.
