NEW DELHI: Claiming that transparency and decisiveness in decision making have been its hallmark, the government on Friday said the enthusiasm has been restored in the country since Narendra Modi-led government took charge over a year ago.

As BJP government completes its first in power on May 26, it deputed Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to hold the inaugural press conference to highlight the achievement and even provide broad contours of its governance style.  “The country is not ready to accept slow pace of decisions. There is absolute clarity in the direction the government wants to go. The direction is growth and development,” Jaitley said adding “decisiveness, even in the face of obstructionism, has been a hallmark of this government.”

The government that is aiming to win the perception game as it complete one year, Jaitley said their social security programmes were one of the strongest ever in this country, but certainly the policy will be one of arms-length distance in terms of decision-making from individual business houses."
