Maharshtra to Spend Rs 13,828 Crores in 5 Years on Rural Road Scheme

Maharashtra government today approved an expenditure of Rs 13,828 crore in five years on the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna (CMGSY).

MUMBAI: Maharashtra government today approved an expenditure of Rs 13,828 crore in five years on the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna (CMGSY) for construction and repairing of roads.

A meeting of the state cabinet here, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis approved the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna (CMGSY) for construction and repairing of roads.

Rs 13,828 crore will be spent on this scheme in 5 years, Fadnavis said.

CMGSY is to bring greater connectivity in rural areas. Under this, 30,000 km of roads will be repaired and 730 km of new roads will be constructed.

The state cabinet also decided to double the amount of compensation for loss of property in terrorist attack, riot, bomb blast or Naxal attack.
