One Killed, Two Injured in Clash Over Poll Related Rivalry

One person was shot dead, two others injured in a clash between two rival groups contesting BDC elections, police said.

MAINPURI: One person was shot dead and two others injured in a clash between two rival groups contesting block development committee (BDC) elections here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when groups of Jarman Singh Yadav and Dinesh Yadav, who had contested BDC member elections held on October 17, clashed in Nagla Bani in Dannahar area here.

In the firing, Baba alias Sudhir (37) of Jarman group died on the spot while two others injured, police said.

The injured have been rushed to the hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.

An FIR has been registered in this regard, police said, adding, no arrests have been made so far.
