Acting on a specific input, the cadre was apprehended from Dhurli village under Bhansi police station limits, a police official told PTI. Police had received a tip-off about the arrival of a woman Maoist at her native village Dhurli for recruiting fresh cadres into the outlawed CPI (Maoist) following which a team of security forces was rushed to the spot, he said.

After surrounding the village, security forces nabbed the Ultra, he added. The Naxal was later identified as Somli Telam (27), deputy commander of Mirtur LOS (local operation squad) of Maoists, the official said.

Telam was active in neighbouring Bijapur district where she had allegedly executed several naxals incidents, including loot, arson, murder and attacks on police party, he said. She was being interrogated, he added.
