Modi Likens Grand Alliance to 3 Idiots

PATNA: The battle of the ballot took on a filmy hue in Bihar as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hit back at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his parody of a song from the movie 3 Idiots. Modi had likened the ‘grand alliance’ of RJD, JD(U) and Congress to 3 Idiots on Monday.

Modi also advised Nitish to practice this art of poetry after November 8, when the latter will have enough time after the “defeat of the grand alliance” in the polls.

“Yesterday, I saw Nitishji doing some mushaira (poetry symposium). He was performing before some courtiers and journalists. I knew there are three partners in the grand alliance — Congress, RJD and JD(U). But I wonder why Nitish babu chose a song from the film 3 Idiots for his first mushaira. Even if you wanted to parody a poem why did you think of the 3 Idiots,” Modi said, mocking Nitish during an election rally at Sitamarhi. “It appears that he is in competition with Laluji on who has mastery in the art of entertainment,” he said. “Wah, Nitish babu, wah. What a great and entertaining play,“ he added.

Modi was making this scathing attack on Nitish,  who recited a parody using a popular song from the film to target Modi for his alleged failures on different administrative fronts.

“He was like the blowing wind, from Gujarat he came with promise to bring back black money, where has he gone? Find him. While we worry about the country, he travels abroad; while price rise bothers us, he tells us only his ‘mann ki baat’. Always busy clicking selfies, he promised to bring back Dawood. Where has he gone? Find him, went the parody by Nitish.

Modi further targeted Nitish in the backdrop of his meeting with a tantrik, saying people go to tantriks only when every option is exhausted and there is no hope left. He asked the audience, “Does India need mantra-tantra or loktantra?” Pitching for development, he said, “If anything can change your life and future it is only development... The solution for all problems in Bihar is not Modi but development”.
