NANDIGRAM: Two persons were injured and four others were missing after a BJP meeting was attacked allegedly by ruling Trinamool Congress workers at Nandigram in East Midnapore district.

Local TMC leaders, however, said they were not involved in the attack which occurred yesterday. BJP district secretary Sukumar Das alleged that party activists were holding a meeting at Tekhali Bazar in Nandigram to inform people about another party meeting to be held tomorrow when TMC workers attacked it.

Actress turned BJP leader Locket Chatterjee is scheduled to attend the Thursday meeting. Two persons were injured in the attack and they were admitted to Nandigram hospital, Das said, adding four others were missing.

A complaint was lodged against the TMC in connection with the incident in Nandigram police station by BJP. District Superintendent of Police Alok Rajoria said he has been informed about the incident and he will look into it.
