Headmaster Held for Raping Minor Student in MP

NEEMUCH: Headmaster of a government school in the district was arrested on the charges of kidnapping and raping a minor school girl, police said today.

The alleged incident occurred between August 12 and 14, following which the accused identified as Kamlesh Gujrati, currently posted in Government Middle School at Choukankheda village, was apprehended yesterday, they said.

He had first lured the class VIII student about 18 months ago, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police, Jawad, Inderjeet Bakarwal told reporters.

The SDOP said the girl had disappeared from her house in the village on August 12 and returned two days after, following which a complaint was lodged by her parents.

"Later, the girl revealed that the headmaster had exploited her physically under the pretext of marrying her," the SDOP said.

A case under various sections of IPC and sections of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) was registered against Kamlesh.

In her statement earlier, the girl had accused her cousin brother of raping her following which he was arrested, but Kamlesh's name cropped up during investigations, the SDOP added.
