Congress Demands Immunity of Saudi Diplomat to be Revoked

NEW DELHI: Congress today made a strong plea to the Centre to revoke the diplomatic immunity of the Saudi Arabian diplomat, who has been accused of rape and torture of two Nepalese women.

The party condemned the alleged sexual assault by the diplomat, who along with his family has shifted to the Saudi Embassy.

Party chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala demanded that the the immunity of the diplomat be revoked and he must be punished in accordance with the Indian law.

India has asked Saudi Arabia to present its diplomat before investigators and cooperate with the probe in the case that has triggered outrage.
