A police inspector was shot dead by the alleged animal smugglers in Bareilly on Thursday.

FARIDPUR: A police inspector was shot dead by the alleged animal smugglers in Bareilly on Thursday.

“Police team led by police inspector Manoj Mishra left to conduct raid after getting information about activities of animal traffickers. Inspector Manoj Mishra was shot during the firing, culprits have been identified, we will be able to catch them soon,” said RKS Rathore, DIG Bareilly Range.

The smugglers opened fire when Mishra reached the spot. He was taken to the hospital after getting shot in the stomach, where he was declared dead.
