Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to Lift Meat Ban

MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday announced that the meat ban in the state will be lifted on September 13 and 18.

The Maharashtra government headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has banned the sale and consumption of meat in view of Paryushan, a Jain festival.

The BJP has drawn sharp criticism from various political parties over the decision.
