NEW DELHI: In a major setback for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday swept the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) polls by winning all the four seats.

ABVP’s Satinder Awana, an MA Buddhist Studies student, won the election for the president post. Sunny Dedha, pursuing Law, won the vice-president’s post. Anjali Rana has been elected as the secretary and Chattar Pal Yadav elected as the joint-secretary respectively.

The Student Union elections were contested between the ABVP, NSUI (National Students’ Union of India) and Aam Aadmi Party’s student wing Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti.

More than 43 percent students had cast their votes for the DUSU polls. The polls were dominated this year by issues such as rollback of CBCS, security, transport and accommodation problems faced by varsity students.
