JK Tourism Department kick started Cleanliness Week to maintain beauty and ecology of tourist destinations.

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department today kick started 'Safai Ka Hafta' (Cleanliness Week) to maintain beauty and ecology of tourist destinations in the state.

The main programme to inaugurate the Cleanliness Week was held at the ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir while similar functions were organised at other tourist destinations under various tourism development authorities across the state, an official spokesperson said.

Various local stake holders related to the tourism sector participated in the initiative aimed at maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of tourist destinations of the state, he said.
