NEW DELHI: The local police have arrested two youth in connection with the gangrape of a minor girl, who was abducted and repeatedly gangraped allegedly by the duo at Aman Vihar here.
Accused Naushad and Mohammad were thrashed to pulp by the locals, who had joined the manhunt after the girl went missing on Sunday. The mob also tore up their clothes and tonsured their heads before a police team arrived on the spot.
Police said the duo, who escaped serious injuries, have been sent to jail and a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and other Sections of Indian Penal Code was registered based on the victim’s statement.“Medical reports have confirmed rape. The accused men are labourers and lived two houses away from the victim’s home,” said a senior police officer. The victim is being provided counselling with the help of an non-government organisation.
