GHAZIABAD: Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) today raided 22 illegal dying factories in Sahibadabad district and sealed them as per the directions of Allahabad High Court.

A member of the raiding team, Junior Engineer of UPPCB Anshul Sharma said that a total of 22 jeans dying units situated at Rajiv colony and Pappu colony at Loni Road in Sahibabad were raided today and sealed as the units were running without any permission.

Sharma also said that the team also lifted samples of potable water from a tubewell located inside plot no A-35 in site-4 Sahibabad Industrial Area for testing purpose.

The board had received a complaint that the tubewell is discharging red-coloured water and not fit for drinking.

Water sample will be tested at UPPCB laboratory at Vasundhara (Sahibabad) and the report will be sent to Allahabad High Court which is required as evidence in an ongoing litigation, he added.
