AURANGABAD: A local court today awarded death sentence to a youth for raping and murdering a two-year-old girl in Jalna district of Maharashtra in 2012.
Jalna district and sessions judge Ashutosh N Karmarkar, who convicted Ravi Ashok Ghumare on Wednesday, pronounced the sentence today.
According to the prosecution, the incident had taken place on March 6, 2012, when Ghumare raped and murdered the girl in Indiranagar locality of Jalna city, after luring her with a chocolate.
