"Based on specific information, the troops of Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga under the aegis of Uniform Force Headquarter, Reasi and troops of J-K police, Mahore recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Dargainar, located on the higher ridges of Khataji mountain ranges of Mahore tehsil," a defence spokesman said.

He said in the joint operation carried out during the early hours, security forces recovered one AK-47 rifle, 30 cartridges of AK-47 ammunition, two magazines and "other war-like stores".

"The cache was buried four feet deep in a natural hideout under a boulder", he said.
