Calls for a Deep Probe
The black money scam and tax frauds linked to the former FM P Chidambaram and certain CBDT officials still loyal to him (S Gurumurthy’s write-up) appear to have wider tentacles and call for a deep probe. Booking these people for looting the nation brooks no delay. Only a few months back, we heard of the corporate espionage from petroleum ministry which also had its origin in UPA government.

Gurumurthy Deserves a Pat
Apropos of ‘PC, Vasan Eye Care and `223-cr Black Money’ dated 17-9-2015 in TNIE, Gurumurthy deserves a pat on the back for exposing the unholy nexus between the former Finance Minister and the Vasan Eye Care Group, resulting in loss of crores of rupees to the countries’s exchequer. God alone knows how many pies P Chidambaram had his finger in.

Bring the Corrupt to Book
Gurumurthy has done yeoman service by highlighting the involvement of Chidambaram and his son Karti in helping Vasan Eye Care and NDTV to defraud the nation of crores of rupees when ordinary citizens are made to pay through their nose. The bigwigs should be punished so that citizens would get their faith back in the rule of the law.

There may be or may not be something. Ministry of Finance/CBDT should act fast. The FM must keep a close check on what is happening. Perhaps it is possible for Vasan Eye Care to obtain a stay from the Supreme Court on all proceedings.

My heart sinks and cries out when I read of such adharma & corruption. We have, on the one side, people like Nana Patekar who is willing to give up part of his own money and luxuries to help ailing farmers and widows, and on the other we have mighty politicians who don’t give a hoot while amassing wealth.
