LeT, Pakistan ISI Planning Fidayeen Attacks in Punjab, Delhi: Intel

Plot hatched under Hafiz Saeed, funded by ISI; weapons concealed in trucks in J&K

NEW DELHI:  Central Intelligence agencies have issued a warning over potential fidayeen attacks in Punjab and Delhi. The alert based on Intelligence picked by the agencies suggests that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is preparing to execute a Gurdaspur-style terror attack on India. Sources said, “it is not a routine alert and intercepts indicated that 15 to 20 trained terrorists from LeT suicide squad are ready to infiltrate into Indian territory.”

The input dated September 26 reveals that the LeT terror plan was put in place on the directions of Hafiz Saeed and financed by Pakistan’s rogue Intelligence agency ISI.

“They were trained in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Intelligence input suggests that arms for the terrorists after infiltration will be provided by sleeper cells in J&K concealed in cavities of trucks,” sources said.

According to Intelligence officials, the ISI recently held a meeting with Pakistan-based terrorist groups, including LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Babbar Khalsa and Khalistan Zindabad Force.

Khalistan Zindabad Force chief Ranjeet Singh alias Neeta is said to be working closely with Pakistan ISI to carry out terror attacks in Punjab. Neeta, Intelligence inputs said, provided a two-month-long language training to LeT’s fidayeens near Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib.

“The terrorists have been trained by Neeta in Sikh tradition and Gurumukhi script. They are likely to be disguised as locals following infiltration. Local police departments and State law enforcement agencies have been put on high alert,” sources further added.

The Gurdaspur attack in July rattled security agencies after they found new strategy of terror modules and opening of another front to carry out attacks.

The terrorists were not carrying rations or ID proofs as part of the new terror spectacular.

Pakistan ISI and terror groups sheltered by the Pakistani State authorities have been systematically trying to revive militancy in Punjab with the help of Babbar Khalsa and outfits like Khalistan Zindabad Force.

A senior official also confirmed an alert from the Coast Guard regarding terrorists’ plan to use Harami Nala in Kutch, Gujarat, to infiltrate into Indian Territory.  He said the States had been put on heightened state of vigilance for suspected terrorists and keeping close tabs on infiltration routes.
