NEW DELHI: Senior academic administrators, including vice-chancellors and registrars of universities, will soon receive training on management and leadership through modules prepared by IIMs.
According to sources, the ministry could organise regional conferences in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Guwahati and Chandigarh this month itself for this purpose after a direction from HRD Minister Smriti Irani.
Asked whether the module will also have a section on sensitisation in light of incidents like the suicide by Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula in Hyderabad, a senior official said that was a possibility and the final content of the module is yet to be decided.
"The ministry is planning to hold regional conferences for VCs and educational administrators and the final content would be finalised soon," an official said.
