NEW DELHI: For the first time since the Pathankot attack, the Indian and Pakistan Foreign Secretaries will sit down for a bilateral meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process.

The meeting between India’ S Jaishankar and Pakistan’s Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry is likely to take place around noon at Hyderabad House. India may raise the topic of the Pathankot investigation, the NIA visit to Pakistan and the road map for such meetings between the two countries in the future. The proposed meeting on January 14-15 between the Foreign Secretaries was postponed after the terror strike on the Pathankot airbase on January 2 resulted in India demanding action against Pakistani terrorists before the resumption of the bilateral dialogue process. Pakistan had blamed India for suspending talks on flimsy grounds, and putting unacceptable pre-conditions to resume comprehensive bilateral dialogue. Pakistan’s Foreign Office said its delegation would hold meetings also with other delegations attending the Heart of Asia meet.
