IMPHAL: Less than 24 hours of the bomb explosion in Assam, an Improvised Explosive Device was found today in the heart of Imphal this morning near the office of the PRO Defence in Imphal West district, a police source said.
The IED was detected by CRPF personnel during area sanitisation work around 8 am following which they informed the police.
The bomb weighed about 3 kg, a police source said.
Later, a team of bomb experts of Manipur police picked up the bomb and disposed it at Lamphel area of the district, the source added.
