SRINAGAR: The militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen’s Kashmir chief Zakir Rashid alias Moosa has released a new video in which he has warned the Jammu and Kashmir policemen not to “harass” the families of the militants otherwise they would have to face severe consequences.

In the one-minute and 25 second video, which was circulated on social media, Zakir asked policemen not to harass the families of the militants.

“By involving our families, you have made a big mistake. This war was between you and us but you have involved our families in this war,” said Zakir, who was appointed Kashmir chief of Hizbul Mujahideen after killing of 21-year-old Hizb commander Burhan Wani on July 8.

After killing of Burhan, Kashmir has been witnessing unrest and shutdown. At least 94 people have been killed, more than 13000 injured and over 8000 arrested in the Valley in over four month long unrest.

“I am forgiving you (policemen) taking this as your first mistake,” Zakir said.

However, the Hizb commander warned the policemen that if they continue to harass their families, the militants too won’t spare their families.

“You have involved our families after just a small explosion. We will go after your families also if you continue to harass our families,” he warned without explaining which explosion he was referring to.

The Hizb commander said, “Do you think your families are safe because they are in Jammu or other parts of India. We can reach them anywhere, whether they are in Jammu or Kanyakumari and target them. We are very much capable of doing that”.

He further warned that the militants won’t spare the families of cops from IGP to a peon in case their families are harassed and targetted.

Zakir, who was an engineering student in Chandigarh and joined Hizb three years back,  has been seen many times in videos and pictures alongside Burhan Wani. He has also released a video after the killing of Burhan.
