NEW DELHI: Suspended Noida Authority engineer Yadav Singh was today arrested by the CBI in connection with a corruption case.
He was arrested after detailed questioning regarding his business links and the people from whom he received bribes. Singh was grilled on various aspects of the case, including the projects handled by him and was confronted with related documents, sources said.
Singh was evasive during the examination and could not explain some new evidence presented to him by the agency, they said.
Singh faces two separate CBI cases: one relating to his disproportionate assets and and another relating to high-level corruption in awarding contracts.
The CBI's press officer R K Gaur said Singh was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation of corruption.
The cases were registered upon a directive from the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court to conduct an investigation into allegations of corruption and amassment of unaccounted money by Singh.
