Second-time 'Murderer' to be 1st Juvenile Tried as Adult?

NEW DELHI:  A juvenile arrested over the murder of an elderly woman here is likely to be treated as an adult under a new law passed by Parliament in December with police requesting the Juvenile Justice Board to consider him as an adult, citing that he had kidnapped and killed a teenager September last year.

The 17-year-and-11-month-old boy, who was released from an observation home for good behaviour last December after kidnapping and killing a 13-year-old boy, allegedly murdered and robbed an elderly woman in the city on Monday. He was released from juvenile home after his parents applied for bail saying he had to appear for his Class X exams.

In September, the juvenile, along with his girlfriend, had allegedly abducted and murdered a boy for money which he needed for participating in a popular dance reality show, police said.
