An 18-year-old college student’s attempt to click a selfie ended in tragedy when he lost his balance and drowned in the Waldevi dam in Nashik district. As friend who jumped in to save him also suffered the same fate.
Sourabh Jagannath Chulbhar and his friend Ajinkya Bhausaheb Gaikar went for a picnic to the dam. Sourabh stood atop a rock to click a selfie. He lost his footing and fell into the dam.
Ajinkya jumped in to rescue his friend.
According to Wadivhare police station in-charge, Manohar Patil, some local fishermen rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies.
