GUWAHATI: Congress dissidents in Arunachal Pradesh are optimistic about forming government after the Supreme Court on Thursday paved the way for lifting President’s Rule in the State. “We are waiting for the lifting of President’s Rule. After all, a government has to be in place,” Congress dissident Pasang D Sona told Express. He said former Minister Kalikho Pul, who had spearheaded by the rebellion against former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, was their unanimous choice for the post of CM.

Accompanied by a group of rebel Congress MLAs, Pul had on Monday met Governor J P Rajkhowa at the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar and staked claim to form the government.
