Sushma Swaraj who is known for her responsive action on Twitter stepped in to help Nikhil Mahajan, elder brother of slain Captain Tushar Mahajan. While trying to return to India, Nikhil (29) was stuck in US due to some paperwork. When his family and friends reached out to the External Affairs Minister on Twitter, Sushma was yet again quick to respond and directed the Indian Embassy in Washington DC to get in touch with Nikhil.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Indian deputy chief of mission eventually got in touch with him and assured all help in getting his paperwork done. The martyr's elder brother even boarded his flight to reach his family during its hour of grief.
Captain Tushar Mahajan was killed while fighting terrorists during the Pampore encounter on Sunday.
