Solar Scam: Delhi Court Seeks Report on Saritha Charge

NEW DELHI/KOCHI:The Tis Hazari court in New Delhi on Friday sought a report from the Delhi Police on an allegation raised by Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that she had handed over an amount to his aide Thomas Kuruvilla in Delhi.

The court has ordered police to submit a status report on the incident while considering a petition filed by Dileep, an executive Committee member of Navodaya, a Delhi-based organisation close to the Sangh Parivar.

Justice Rajesh Kumar Rampuri has also ordered to submit the investigation report by March 31,2016.

The petitioner in his plea alleges that  the matter involves a serious hawala transaction and as it happened in the national capital, the money  was intended to bribe higher officials and ministers during UPA rule.

The  prayer is to order an  investigation  under 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Saritha had given a statement to the Solar commission that she had handed over Rs 1.10 crore to Thomas Kuruvila, the CM’s aide in New Delhi, at the parking area of a mall in Chandni Chowk.

As soon as Saritha gave the statement, Shine P Sasidhar of the Navodaya had filed a complaint at Kotwali  police station in Chandni Chowk.

The complainant asked the police to register an first  information report against the Chief Minister.

The organisation approached the court as the police did not take any take any action based on the compliant.

KPA Official Sought Money at CM’s Office

Saritha.jpgKochi: Solar scam accused Saritha  Nair on Friday deposed before Justice G Sivarajan Commission probing the case that Kerala Police Association general secretary G R Ajith asked her for `40 lakh at CM Oommen Chandy’s office at the Secretariat.  Once again turning the CM’s office into the epicentre of controversy, Saritha also stated that Ajith had used the telephone at the Chief Minister’s office to make calls.   According to Saritha, she met Ajith on several occasions at Chandy’s office. In January 2013, Ajith met her at the CM’s office when she visited there. He informed Saritha that her company could be the main sponsor of the KPA’s annual convention  in May 2013. He asked her for `40 lakh, in return for which advertisement of Team Solar company would be published through notices,and magazines to be released as part the convention.
