Widow Alleges Rape by Two Home Guards in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: A 32-year-old widow was allegedly drugged and raped by two brothers at her house in Govindnagar-II area of Chomu town, 25 km from here, police said today.

The woman in her complaint to the police yesterday, alleged that Omprakash and Chittarmal, who worked as home  guards and were known to the her, drugged and raped her last Thursday. They also beat her up when she resisted, they said.

Her 10-year-old son was sleeping in another room when she was allegedly gangraped, police said.

The accused, residents of Modija village, absconded from their home after the victim lodged the police complaint, they said.

A case under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 376 (rape) of the IPC was registered against the accused and investigation is underway, police said.

The woman would be sent for medical examination and her statements recorded, they added.
