Dadri lynching: Akhilesh raise objections over meat report

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav raised objections over the meat report results compiled by the Uttar Pradesh veterinary department regarding Dadri lynch episode that took place last year.

“Where was the sample sent, who received it? There was nothing objectionable in his house. Every eye is on this matter. Everyone wants that the victim’s family should get justice as murder had taken place” Yadav said on Wednesday.

Akhilesh’s comments come after the lawyers of the accused released a forensic lab report to the media.

The new lab report which is attested by Joint Director forensic investigation laboratory UP University of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry read, “On the basis of chemical analysis the sample belongs to Cow and its progeny”.  The sample was analyzed on October 3, 2015.

Strongly disagreeing with Yadav BJP MP Yogi Adityanath said “All benefits given to Akhlaq's family should be withdrawn and they should be charged for keeping beef. 19 Hindus arrested should be released, they are innocent. All those who questioned the Centre and Hindus over tolerance have been shamed”.

Akhlaq’s family’s, lawyer Yusuf Saifi told Express “There was no CCTV camera in the entire area near the victims house, people who gave the sample are in jail. It is in a very suspicious manner that this report has surfaced. The meat which the lab report identifies as Cow meat was found in a drain far away from the home.”

"This report has come after six months. At that time, a report (of veterinary department) had also come, but it didn't say the same thing. We don't know what they have done and what they have done with it? Saifi added.

Meanwhile, Narendra Kumar Yadav, Advocate based in Ghaziabad has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding a registration of a cow slaughter case against the family. Sanjay Rana local BJP leader, who is the relative of one arrested in the case is also meeting with Senior Superintendent of Police Gautam Buddh Nagar to request registration of an FIR against the family.
