GENEVA: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said combating the issue of black money and tax evasion was an important issue for India and Switzerland.
"Combating menace of black money and tax evasion is a key issue for our countries," Modi said here during a joint news conference with Switzerland President Johann Schneider-Ammann.
Earlier, the two leaders met after Modi landed in the Swiss city from the Qatar capital of Doha. The Indian prime minister is on a five-nation tour that has already taken him to Afghanistan and Qatar.
Highlighting India's easy business environment, Modi invited Swiss investment to India. "I invite Swiss companies to be a key partner in India's economic growth," he said.
"The economic links between our two countries are strong and vibrant."
Earlier, the Indian prime minister met the Swiss president as the two leaders discussed bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
He will be in the US on Tuesday, during which he will meet President Barack Obama in the White House.
