'Parliament Board to decide BJP's UP CM face'

"...When the time comes, the Parliamentary Board will discuss and decide on it,” Singh said

NEW DELHI: As the BJP prepares for the Uttar Pradesh elections, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh said the party’s highest decision making body, Parliamentary Board, will take a final decision on whether to project someone as Chief Ministerial candidate.

“As of now, there is no discussion at all in the Parliamentary Board. When the time comes, the Parliamentary Board will discuss and decide on it,” Singh said.

Top BJP leadership has been asking Singh to accept a lead role in running BJP’s campaign, to which he had expressed his reservation. When pointed out that BJP got power in Assam where it had declared a candidate and lost in Bihar polls where nobody was projected, Singh said despite not declaring a CM candidate, the party won Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand.
