Advocates of 'Chalo High Court' protest arrested in Hyderabad

Advocates who participated in Chalo high Court protest were taken into custody and shifted to various police stations in Hyderabad today.

HYDERABAD: Advocates who participated in Chalo high Court protest were taken into custody and shifted to various police stations in Hyderabad today.

The Telangana advocates have given chalo high Court call protest against suspension of 11 judicial officials including lower court judges for staging protest against the provisional allocation of subordinate judicial officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Following chalo high Court protest, a number of advocates gathered at the high Court and tried to enter in to court premises. However, policemen deployed at high Court detained advocates and shifted to police stations.

Police also foiled indefinite fast of advocate Jaya Vindhyala who started protest at court no 11 in high Court and shifted her to Osmania general hospital.

Protesting Telangana judicial officers also decided to go on mass leave for the next 15 days.

The advocates are likely to call on Governor E S L Narasimhan to submit  their demands which include revocation of the suspension order and recall of the provisional allocation.
