Swachh Dutt, a Clean Brand Ambassador for Delhi Civic Body

The actor known for his Gandhigiri acting on screen will wield a broom to wipe out dirt and filth in New Delhi.

NEW DELHI: Munnabhai of the silver screen, superstar Sanjay Dutt, who recently walked out of jail with a few hundred bucks in hand, has already hit on a new job. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) which manages the Lutyens Zone in the national capital has approached the star to be its brand ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission and Smart City initiative.

The actor known for his Gandhigiri acting on screen will wield a broom to wipe out dirt and filth in New Delhi.

Dutt has accepted the request. A copy of the letter written by the NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar on February 26, is with Express. This was a day after Dutt was released from Pune’s Central Yerwada jail after completing his sentence for possession of illegal arms in connection to the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

In the letter Kumar said, “Being a leading youth icon and a leading youth personality of our country, NDMC seeks your association in its “Swachh Bharat Mission” and “Smart city” initiatives. Your presence in the campaign shall have great impact on millions of your fans including NDMC inhabitants.” 

The letter further said, “I (Kumar) request you to be a ‘Brand Ambassador to the New Delhi Municipal Council. The council will be honoured, if you kindly accept the offer and spare some time to spread the message. Your collaboration with NDMC will not only strengthen and give impetus to the NDMC in achieving its goals of making NDMC up to international standards but add value to our efforts.”

Accepting the offer CAA KWAN talent management agency, on behalf of Dutt, responded to Kumar’s lette, writing, “ Sanjay Dutt is more than delighted to confirm his intent to be a Brand Ambassador of New Delhi Municipal Council for their Swachch Bharat Mission and Smart City initiatives. It gives immense pleasure to Mr Sanjay Dutt to partner with you on such wonderful initiatives launched by you.”
