KOLKATA: While the Left Front and the Congress are yet to begin preliminary talks about a proposed electoral understanding for the Assembly elections scheduled in April, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo is all set with her poll and campaign strategies. Recently, Mamata herself coined the slogan: “Thanda, thanda, cool, cool. Again will win Trinamool.”
A senior TMC minister told Express, “Our poll and campaign strategies are ready. The campaign content just needs formal approval from Didi. She has already roped in two senior Muslim leaders (Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind leader Siddiqullah Chowdhury and former CPM land minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah) and the minorities will vote en masse for us. We are confident of victory,” he said.
Even before poll dates have been announced, the TMC roped in leading professional singers Rupankar and Anupam and the party’s own famous Rabindrasangeet singer Indranil Sen, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Baharampur, to compose theme music for the campaign.
An opera and a drama are also ready. State tourism minister Bratya Basu, a well-known actor and dramatist, and TMC Lok Sabha MP Arpita Ghosh, another playwright, have come up with a 20-minute drama on achievements of the government. CDs and DVDs of the music and drama will be sent to all 326 blocks of the state, and will be broadcast through FM, TV channels and streamed on YouTube and Facebook.
