Police Registers FIR in Tunnel Detection Case in Jammu

Police registered an FIR in connection with detection of cross-border tunnel by BSF along the IB in R S Pura sector of Jammu district on March 3.

JAMMU: Police has registered an FIR in connection with detection of cross-border tunnel by BSF along the International Border (IB) in R S Pura sector of Jammu district on March 3.

"We have registered an FIR against unidentified persons in connection with digging of a tunnel in the border belt," station house officer (SHO), R S Pura police station, Bushan Singh said.

The FIR has been lodged by Commandant of 127th Battalion of BSF under sections 120-B, 121-I, 122, 123 of RPC.

The sections imposed included criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country, collecting material for waging war and preparation for war.

BSF had on March 3 found the 30-meter-long well-constructed tunnel about 10 feet below the ground. This is the fourth tunnel unearthed by the force in the region since 2012.

The tunnel has came up in the vicinity of Allah-Mai-Di-Kothi BoP on the Indian side from the Pakistani post of Afzal.
