HALDWANI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Pramod Bora was arrested from Haldwani on Thursday in connection with the attack on police horse ‘Shaktiman’ during a BJP protest.

‘Shaktiman’, was allegedly injured by BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi. Joshi visited the injured animal today, and said the horse needs better treatment and must be sent to the national capital in that regard.

The Dehradun Police on Sunday registered a case against Joshi for beating a police horse, reportedly breaking one of its legs, during a protest against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Monday for "misuse" of funds.

Earlier today, Rawat assured that the best possible treatment would be given to the ailing animal.

Rawat said that the entire episode was a blot on the image of his state and lamented the fact that such a treatment was meted out to the horse.
