Ten INLD legislators from Haryana barged into the Punjab assembly on Thursday demanding cancellation of its order that de-notified the land of the Satluj Yamuna Link Canal.

CHANDIGARH: Ten INLD legislators from Haryana barged into the Punjab assembly on Thursday demanding cancellation of its order that de-notified the land of the Satluj Yamuna Link Canal.

“Punjab has back-stabbed the people of Haryana by passing this de-notification. No one in history has taken such an unconstitutional step," Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Chautala, who led the group, told the media.

"They have broken the social relationship between the people of the two states,” he added.

The Punjab assembly unanimously passed a resolution to de-notify the 3,928 acres of land where the canal was passing in the state and asked farmers from whom it was taken to reclaim it.
